So how do you get attempted poaching? He had a deer tag that was used to identify him.

Just wondering.

Private property.

As an experienced Wi. deer hunter, it is his responsibility to know the laws.

Permanent stands, like the one he was in, are allowed ONLY on private property.

Hunting on private property is poaching.

I think shooting a deer (or anything) on another person's property would also be considered poaching license or not. Trespassing, of course, can be done without hunting. I might be wrong, but I think that's how that charge comes into it. Not that it really matters. On another note, this is the first I've heard that Vang may have murdered other hunters in the past. Very interesting, serial killer perhaps?
