Cindy Sheehan Aide Claims Levees Dynamited To Protect Rich
Sweetness & Light ^ | September 12, 2005 | N/A

A member of Cindy Sheehan's legal team and Veterans For Peace fundraiser, Andrea Garland, claims the New Orleans levees were dynamited to protect "the rich part of town." And that the subsequent flooding was the result of officials using "too much dynamite":

Also heard that part of the reason our house flooded is they dynamited part of the levee after the first section broke - they did this to prevent Uptown (the rich part of town) from being flooded. Apparently they used too much dynamite, thus flooding part of the Bywater. So now I know who is responsible for flooding my house - not Katrina, but our government.

This outrageous claim has been heavily promoted by the Howard Dean paid shill site, the Daily Kos, here and here and probably elsewhere on that un-navigable site.

This story has also been picked up by self-proclaimed "American hero," Dick Gregory, as reported in this recorded interview from the CNS with the unfunny man:

"It (Hurricane Katrina) didn't hit, it went down the Gulf," Gregory said. "And nobody is asking, if it missed, where's this damn water coming from? Who shut them pumps off and who's going to investigate those two barges with dynamite on them that hit that levee," he said in reference to the failure of the city's levees and water pumps, which were intended to protect the city from flooding.

Andrea Garland stands to gain financially from promulgating such a tale. Ms. Garland is working closely with the VFP and their point man, Ward Reilly, in their scam to raise funds on the back of Katrina victims. (Discussed here and here.)

Of course, Cindy Sheehan herself is also deeply involved in the VFP's boondoggle, which they call Camp Casey III. The VFP's fraudulent activity has also been vouchsafed for and heavily promoted by Michael Moore, as well as many leftwing organs, including the Howard Dean paid shills at the Daily Kos.

Authorities are investigating the VFP's Katrina relief claims. Apparently some actions have been taken to stop their fraudulent activities. As even Andrea herself almost reports.

the New Orleans levees were dynamited to protect "the rich part of town."

So how does this work, exactly?

The rich folks lived under Lake Ponchartrain, so their water level was lowered?

I'm speechless....Are they browsing urban legends sites just looking for tin-foil material?

What I keep hearing from sources on the left is the phrase: "Prove that(BLANK) DIDN'T Happen". How do you prove a negative?

This is great. I hope she gets wide coverage. I especially hope she gets invited to show how exactly rich people get water to flow to lower elevations, vice its natural tendency to flow up hill. These people need bigger megaphones.

Go home, Cindy. Your 15 minutes of fame are over. Nobody--including the family you alienated--cares about you any more.

This is actually true. Only, it happened in 1927, not 2005. And, it was done by Democrats. For details, read Rising Tide

"Cindy who? She's so last month."

No she's not! Find the Media! This information needs to get out as soon as possible. Who knows what "THEY" have planned for the other poor communities in cities around the country? BUSH DYNAMITED LEVEES needs to be screamed from every headline!

This is the same crowd that was pushing the story claiming that Charity Hospital had not yet been evacuated although the privately owned Memorial Hospital had been totally evacuated.

Turns out today that Memorial Hospital has 48 bodies in it.

Time for some lawsuits, and Cindy's buddies better all hope they have deep pockets.
