CNN PRODUCERS TOLD ON-AIR GUESTS:Ê GET ANGRY Mon Sep 12 2005 12:42:11 ET
After weeks of over-the-top Katrina coverage from the mainstream media, LA TIMES'S oped guru Michael Kinsley divulges that CNN has been coaching guests to artificially enhance their on-air emotions!
The TV news networks, which only a few months ago were piously suppressing emotional fireworks by their pundits, are now piously encouraging their news anchors to break out of the emotional straitjackets and express outrage. A Los Angeles Times colleague of mine, appearing on CNN last week to talk about Katrina, was told by a producer to "get angry."

I'm pretty sure it was just a couple of weeks ago that CNN was saying that Fox News was nothing more than "entertainment". Right?
Whatever.

Liberal newscasters are being told to be more emotional and irrational?
Isn't that something like coaching a family of skunks to smell even worse?

Damn, I wish I could remember who the talk radio personality was, but I recall him describing his appearance on an MSNBC show. As he was sitting there, listening to the liberal spin from the other side, he heard in his earpiece one of the shows producers egging him on, to get aggressive and chime in. It may have been Rush, but I'm not sure.

Get angry?
Perhaps the folks at CNN should show a little outrage about the lawlessness and the lack of basic personal responsibility displayed by many residents of New Orleans.
This NBC Today show video:
New Orleans - Looters Go Wild
Shows that much of the looting occurred in high and dry neighborhoods. Items stolen included TV's, fishing poles, NFL jersey's, and non-life sustaining goods. I like to see them explain this.

Mon. Sept. 12, 2009, CNN told anchorettes: Get Naked!
Mon. Sept. 12, 2011, CNN told award-winning anchorwoman Cindy Sheehan: Scream at your guest Jeb Bush....then scratch his eyes out.

When a little child has no explanation as to why he should be able to play with matches, stuff legos up his nose or drive Daddy's Volvo, he will scrunch up his face and stomp his little feet. Same thing.

"So who coached Geraldo?"
Since when does Geraldo need coaching to be pompous and overbearing?
To: cweese
Limbaugh talking about this now.

In other words, fake the news.
This will definitely help the fabulous ratings trend of CNN.
