If that's the meaning she intended to convey, it's like saying nothing at all. Now, THAT's what I expect from a U.S. Senator, many words with no meaning.
Well. As long as she's 'fighting' for me, that's all that matters, isn't it?
She had to use lots of words. If she answered directly, it would have been an obvious non sequitur.
"Nagin didn't use the buses that were there because the federal government hasn't provided us with funding for mass transit."
Notice that was her back up excuse. Her first choice was, "Those buses are under water."
I just don't believe she was impugning the city workers with her comment - although they may deserve the criticism too ;-)
