If there are some folks out there such as myself that don't share the Presidents love and admiration for the religion of Peace, why do we allow this new Iraqi constitution which has cost so much American money and blood and TIME, to contain such Koranic Veto clauses as
ISLAM IS THE MAIN SOURCE OF LAW and
NO LAW WILL CONTRADICT ISLAM.
Even Iraq's own say the same thing:
Iraq's Prime Minister is Ibrahim al-Jaafari....
He is a Shiite and was previously one of the two vice-presidents of Iraq under the Iraqi Interim Government in 2004, and the main spokesman for the Islamic Dawa Party in Iraq
....... which is closely politically aligned with the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq (SCIRI)
......... a radical group that enjoys a close relationship with Iran's revolutionary Mullah regime.
Asked if his government would institute Islamic Shari'a law, al-Jaafari replied: "Yes
that is only natural in a country that is populated mainly by Muslims."
"This is a new chapter in relations with Iraq," enthused Iranian Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref during al-Jaafari's visit. Agha Panayi, an Iranian intelligence official, has offered a similarly enthusiastic assessment: "Throughout Iraq, the people we supported are in power."
Fighting for Freedom is what our Troops are doing, it shouldn't be Fighting for ISLAM.
Either the Iraqis come up with a constitution that does not have these Koranic veto clauses in it or they can fight it out by themselves. We haven't gone through all this to create another oil rich IRAN!

Sadly, I think we have.
The Iraqis are muslim. To be muslim is to be a cultural retard. Once we give them the keys, they're going to mess the place up with their backward, oppressive belief system.
Iraq was a mistake. Hindsight is 20/20. I supported the move into Iraq. I think we should finish. But if we had it to do over, we should have concentrated on Afghanistan.
The muslim threat to the world, and to anything resembling a modern culture is very real. The muslims are focused and committed, while most "western" countries are divided and distracted.
