and they probably drove their suburbans and escalades to the nearest airport to be whisked away in their private jets and when they arrived at their destination the stretch limos were waiting for them to take them home and when they arrived at home they went around the block with their bicycles to be politically correct and the libs lived happily ever after (end of fairy tale)

"where is Sharpton? where is Jesse?."

Because people who go there are expected to give donations.

GR8 report DFU.

Those gas guzzlers were probably rented from the nearest airport. Then then got into gas guzzling jets either commercial or private. Taking care of earth is only for the "little people."

So, did anyone give a speech explaining why John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, or Mr. Environmentalist Bobby Kennedy Jr. won't support the clean energy offshore Cape Wind project in front of their Nantucket mansions?

Yes, on this 9/11 weekend, I went under deep cover at the Sierra Club Summit in San Francisco, California.

Oh, but a picture would have been priceless....

Arriana wants soccer moms with three kids and neighbor kids to ferry around to make a sacrifice and buy a little car. Will she make an equivalent sacrifice and live in a modestly sized house? I imagine her yearly utility bill costs way more than an actual SUV, not to mention the fuel for one.

I too have some first hand experience dealing with the Sierra Club.

A good friend of mine is a toxic waste whistle blower. His government career was totally destroyed by none other than now U.S. Senator Ken Salazar. Since the government was not going to clean up their illegaly buried toxic waste, I actually thought maybe the local Sierra Club chapter might be able to help put some pressure on them.

Wrong. The local Sierra Club was only interested in their political agenda. The leader kept bashing evil corporations and Bush during our conversation, and never lifted a finger to help. He really despised me, since I am a capitalist and was wearing a tie.

The toxic waste is still in the ground, and Ken Salazar is in the Senate. Screw the Sierra Club.

The year was 1967 and I was going into the Army as my cousin, with whom I had grown up, with was going into the Peace Corp. I was off to SE Asia to kill godless commies and he was off to Bolivia or Peru to do coke.

He was already a member of the Sierra Club and was part of a radical fringe that was developing within it, among other notions, the elimnation of the internal combustion engine. Now mind you, this was from a fella that drove a FIAT 650 coupe.

I went to one of their meetings while we were both home, coincidently, on leave. I listened for awhile to these idiots discussing appropriating private beach front for 'people's parks' in the Santa Cruz area. Finally the rants started in on cars and their filth-spewing IC engines. I thought to myself, Aha! I've got the hypocrties!

I pointed out to them that almost all of them had arrived, mostly by themselves, in various automobiles. Why didn't they start their crusade with personal examples of non-car use behavior. Weren't they all hypocrites?

They very condescendingly and smuggly explained to me that they couldn't fight for the cause if they couldn't have the benefits of transportation etc. and that when the struggle was won they, along with everyone else, would then be on foot or on bike. They would have to compromise their principles for awhile only to finally overcome oppression, the man, the sinister forces of capitalism, the industrial-military complex, etc.

Your report certainly points out that not much has changed with these fools in 40 years.

Disgusting, foul-mouth weasel.

This actually is pretty funny --- "George Bush thinks ‘Kyoto' is the guy his father threw up on."

I will give him some credit. I heard no reports of submerged women or women with blue dots over their face so they could testify.

>- the real highlight was Arianna Huffington...after she gave her speech and came out of the building she walked right by me...I had heard about her vehicle before the speech, and when I saw her leaving, I raced to borrow a camera...from across the street I managed to take some photos of Arianna and her driver in a gigantic gas guzzling planet-killing Chevy Suburban<

Pictures! We want pictures! (They'd be a hoot to caption.)
