Gibson has been calling for Brown's head on a platter. Gibson has gone wacko, in my opinion.

Yes, that has been disappointing. But, usually I like Gibson.

That said, If I was Brown I would resign just to keep from being a distraction and damaging the President. I guess I expect all those who serve at the pleasure of the President to be willing to fall on their sword for the greater good.

I agree with Ben Stein, though, that you have to be very careful doing that, because you can end up with an ugly Nixonian situation where you throw everybody overboard.

In this case, Brown was expendable with lots of other people ready to step up. Although I do think he got a bum rap, it will all end up ok.
