My mother would be the first to say: take me and let a heathier person live. The thought of my mother in needless pain and suffering and I would be BEGGING a doctor to help her go peacefully.

I agree with you 1000% !!

I've been there with my Mom, a sister and a brother, and I begged for their suffering to end. It's horrible when death seems better than life. But trust me, there ARE situations where that becomes true.

I was told by a minister one time to pray that I never reached the point where I couldn't stand the thought of them taking another breath. Sadly, that time came and he was right about the entire process. I grieved for my loss, but rejoiced that they no longer suffered.
