most of these patients SHOULD have been evacuated on Friday when it was obvious that the storm was coming, at that point there was ample time to save these people. >>

they should have been the first to be transported in all those school buses and ambulances which are now underwater. The mayor and governor are complete incompetents and should be prosecuted for manslaughter.

If Blanco and Nagin are not impeached and prosecuted, it will be a travesty. But I think the question of prosecution will be weather it is done under federal or Louisiana law. Depending on the sequence of events, I have a feeling that jurisdiction would be with the state. These two are lucky that the looters didn't have access to TV or radio; because I think that if they had known how badly Nagin and Blanco had screwed up, the mobs would have killed them.

Florida didn't help Terri out but Florida does evacuate nursing homes and hospitals to higher ground BEFORE the event. Palms of Pasadena Hospital is right by the Gulf for example. Florida takes care of its seniors and infirmed before storms. There are also shelters here that allow pets now. If people won't leave their pets, pet shelters are the only way to save the lives of man and beast.
