My dad knew it, "down to his bones", that big oil was and is keeping a 75-100 mpg carburetor off the market since the late 60's. As I grow older I am realizing that my Dad was a pretty smart guy.


Gotta get me one of those bumper stickers.

I didn't know big oil owned Holly, Edelbrock, Webber, or the boys in Detroit and Dearborn.

Yeah, those urban legends are legion. My husband's family has this story about how his grandfather invented a high-grade gasoline out of dirt.
