If they are liberals, don't be surprised if the association with Christian teachings is pure happenstance. I'm afraid I might have a little more suspicion. The proverbial "wolf in sheep's clothing" if you will, whether these liberal professors know it or not. I'm sure the evil one is pleased.
At any rate, I think BobD is right. Stick to the solid basics that they can't screw up.
