According to my pc clock, it's now 8:46. I was walking on Church St. that day, heard the first plane hit the north tower right before me. Thus began my 9-11 experience.
Sorry, meant to say right behind me. Sounded like a missile. I watched the south tower fall with my own eyes. heard it crumble. heard the screams of women and men. evacuated to brooklyn. made it back into manhattan, hopped a train to jersey. hiked across newark. hopped a train home to the burbs. was back at work in lower Manhattan the following monday.
I was in an offsite company meeting being told that our company had been bought by another energy company. We got back to our offices and turned on a television just before the towers collapsed.
