Present your side and let the other side scream. .........

That would be so nice but just one little problem. They don't want us to get a word in edgewise. If we wait for them to be done and politely give our story, first they will never be done and second they will constantly and loudly interrupt as often as they can. The moderator often doesn't want to appear to "pick on them" too much and won't stop them from interrupting hardly at all. Their tactic is to spew out as many lies as they can as fast as they can and as often as they can. Their tactic is to keep us from talking. If you want to play nice with them the truth will hardly if at all get out. It will be surrounded with 100 lies. Some have learned to "take the gloves off" when playing with these liberal big mouth people. One must "take their gloves off" when dealing with those who have their tactics down to propagate lies and suppress truth. It's like asking our soldiers to be polite and go by all the pc rules when they are fighting terrorist. It doesn't work. They will run over the top of us.

You're right to a point. Those that scream and whine the loudest tend to get heard the most nowadays on both sides of the coin. Sometimes, in my state, if you disagree with even one little thing or cross the lines of some conservative politicians (I am conservative, but don't always agree with every little thing with some in my state), then you get branded and targeted. Some of them "get their revenge" too if someone doesn't support a particular bill someone else has run. I have seen it happen time and time again. We actually have a conservative state representative in my district who tries to listen to people, not just his special-interest cronies. He disagreed with a state senator on a bill. The senator then went on a major attack, sending letters containing untrue allegations to convention Rep's and other dirty attacks. The rep endured the storm, but still had to get past quite a number of things first. The mayor of my town, also a conservative Republican (whom I support quite a bit), is the same way. Cross him, and he'll get his revenge. Definitely, it's the liberal ones in other areas--like the governor's race in Washington State.

All in all, though, if you make your point in a forceful and forthright manner, keeping your composure, yet making sure your point is heard, the other guy is still going to look like the turkey. Howard Dean anyone?
