Need some legal beagles to help out here. I was under the impression that state officials were pretty much insulated from lawsuits resulting from actions (or inactions) on the job.

Yeah, I got corrected by Law Freepers fast. The STATE, not Blanco would be legally liable for Blanco's actions. The point, which I misstated completely, was that Blanco was, and is, legally and operationally in command. I think the distinction is pointed out in like one of the 1st 10 posts or so
