Of course, the helo crews and rescue swimmers don't have their own PR team going with them making press releases.

...nor do they want one. The REAL rescue workers see this as a job that needs to get done. Anything that gets in the way is considered wasteful. Penn's photographer (and his delicate equipment) is taking up space on a boat that could otherwise be used by an EMT, fireman, etc.

Oh, I know that from personal experience. The best recognition is when you get home, alive, and in one piece.
