Sean Penn: Hero In New Orleans

New Orleans, Louisiana (AHN) - Actor Sean Penn has been hailed as a hero and a huge helpful hand, saving up to 45 people in hurricane-torn Louisiana, despite finding and having to deal with a hole in his boat last week.
"I witnessed him rescuing up to 40 people," presidential historian and author Douglas Brinkley told the New York Daily News. "He was up to his waist in toxic muck...I'm not going to comment on Sean's trips to Iraq or Iran, but in this case, he was an American hero."
During an interview on CNN's Larry King Live, Penn said there was not enough being done to help to victims of Hurricane Katrina.
"Most of the National Guard presence was in the air," Penn says. "They were doing a great job, those that were there. But there weren't enough there."
Sorry, but these pictures remind me of Kerry's S/D mission that was captured by his personal photographer. I see a movie deal in the works with Penn as the Head of FEMA taking matters in his own hands, not waiting for the White House to return from vacation(/s)
Sean Penn is no hero. If I had his money, I would have been all over that scene! Note how he brought along his cameraman. I have experience evacuating a beach town prior to a hurricane, am a former Navy Rescue Swimmer, and ocean beach lifeguard.
It's Penn's anti-military propaganda that probably lead the liberal Louisiana Governor to be slow in calling in the national guard to help the victims in the first place. The political stir that Penn has caused inspires the 2 parties to not cooperate properly.
For Penn to go to Iraq as a guest of Saddam Hussein while our troops are going in for battle is treasonous on the actor's part.
Today's (Saturday) NY Post has what seems to be exclusive photos of Sean Penn armed with a shotgun in New Orleans. Is this how he gathers material for his next movie?
At any rate I will try to scan it and post it but it may take me a 5-10 hours to get to my scanner
NYPost Saturday --->>> Hey bud, let's grab a gun and wander around New Orleans! In a move worthy of his addled "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" character, Sean Penn turned into shotgun Sean as he walked through the storm ravaged remains of the Big Easy armed for bear.
How many people did he save in that little boat?....I think he's gonna need a bigger boat!
I question whether Sean Penn actually really rescued anyone. He didn't have alot of rescue equipment in his possession. He probably was simply providing rides for citizens from point "A" to point "B."
Every time I see or hear this historian/punk I imagine Stephen Ambrose rolling over in his grave.
I see he went to the poor part of town, where the folks didn't have transportation to evacuate. /sarc.
Brinkley allowed Kerry to prostitute him and now this phony historian is chasing new patrons. What a joke.
As a former NO resident, I find it quite curious that the only footage we see of Penn was shot in the Garden District. How about a little cruise to the Desire projects, Sean??
Dang ..... I wish I hadn't lent out my scanner
"Every time I see or hear this historian/punk I imagine Stephen Ambrose rolling over in his grave."
Brinkley has been making the rounds on C-SPAN and CNN expressing moral outrage at President Bush. I have not heard him mention Gov Blanco or the mayor by name. Brinkley admitted he put his children in harms way by not evacuating before the storm. Between his decision to not evacuate and his love for John Kerry, the man is an educated idiot with his head in the clouds.
Doesn't look like he was waist deep in toxic muck. The photos show him with clean dry clothes. He is still a traitor in MHO!
Doug Brinkley is Hunter Thompson's biographer. He attended his asinine funeral where his ashes were shot from a cannon
He brought his biographer and a reporter with him? Who the heck does he think he is, English Bob? Where is Gene Hackman when you need him?
