The sad part is that for many this would have been ideal. $2000 is enough to get a whole new wardrobe if you're shopping at a modest store, as well as get a start on furnishing an apartment. Because of a few or some greedy fools, the whole plan is scrapped.

I managed to oputfit BOTH my kids for the upcomong winter -- snowboots and all -- at Target, for about $250.
Heck...I could have furnished and decorated an apartment, as well as clothed the whole family from a thrift store, with money left over. I hope the left doesn't look down on thrift stores....the ultimate recycler.
There's absolutely no greed involved. These people are brain dead.
What's the difference? Greed can be excised.
The power at work here is that after three or four generations of absolute certainty that the "gummint" owes them a means to live and survive, no matter how ineptly they run their lives, or for how long, they will demand and get more.
The gummint, the bureaucracy, has no interest in changing that. What's in it for them? Other than maybe having to get a real job?
Every time this happens the total number is increased substantially and permanently.
