Israel is being given short shrift by foggy bottom because of its dealings with China mainly... I am not sure if that is the reason. If you read the artcile, I think the reason is cleary explained by people in the administration itself on why USA is not willing to mention democratic Israel....because our administration is a Dhimmi administration and afraid of offending Islamic nations while spreading democracy.....talk about hypocrisy ! I expected a lot of better things for USA from this administration....but it looks like this administration is as spineless as the previous administrations when it comes to standing tough against Islamic terror ideology supporting nations. Looks like we will be bending over backwards for Iran too....only time will tell.

what dealing with China? They were vetoed from allowing to go ahead with a deal with China-imagine Israel telling US -I'm sorry you can't deal with Iran(which we do ) or Saudi Arabia(which we do)????????????
