Stupid, stupid, unconstitutional and stupid.
Thanks for sharing this.. .I am disgusted but not surprised at the 'Demrat response' in N.O. . . seems these people can only think in terms of 'above. . .and beyond' the law. More disgusted that the Demrat constituency has yet to 'get it' i.e., what it means to be a Democrat today.
I heard on news today that Mexican Army troops are in MS.
It does not set a good precendant for our govt. to disarm american citizens and invite in foreign troops. I wonder how they will keep the Mexican troops from looting - isn't Mexican military and law enforcement reknown for being crooked and in cahoots with drug lords??
Very old, very trite, but still very true.
Seems the Demrats are determined to make Katrina 'work for them'. . .whatever it takes.
'The buses will be waiting. . .'
I got the email alert from JPFO.

JPFO ALERT: IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE TRUTH,
DELETE THIS ALERT IMMEDIATELY!
"Police Begin Seizing Guns of Civilians - Local police
officers began confiscating weapons from civilians in
preparation for a forced evacuation of the last
holdouts..."
It sounds like a headline from _Unintended Consequences_.
But it's happening now -- today -- in New Orleans. Law
enforcement officials are confiscating the legally-owned
firearms from law-abiding citizens without due process,
without warrants, and without cause, leaving their owners
utterly defenseless and at the mercy of looters and thugs.
According to an article in the New York Times
(http://tinyurl.com/9ot44), the police superintendent P.
Edwin Compass III decreed that no civilians in New Orleans
will be allowed to carry firearms of any kind, even if they
possess permits to do so. "Only law enforcement are allowed
to have weapons," he said.
(Well, not quite. The New Orleans police department will
not be confiscating the weapons of private security
personnel, guaranteeing that only those wealthy enough to
afford a private bodyguard can be assured of protection).
Second Amendment advocates have long warned that such
confiscations would undoubtedly occur in the event of major
catastrophe. That they were right is not a surprise. Sadly,
neither is the fact that few gun owners have resisted the
confiscations.
Over the years, Americans have become increasingly ignorant
about what rights they really have. Inalienable, individual
rights have given way to "junk rights" -- privileges to be
granted or withheld at the whim of the government. So if
the government demands that they give up their guns, it's
only natural that they should comply. Police officers and
soldiers who are confiscating the firearms are either
equally ignorant about citizens' rights ... or _simply
don't care_ about following unconstitutional orders.
We've stated repeatedly that we must restore a Bill of
Rights culture in this country. Until the populace knows
ALL of its rights _and insists those rights be respected_ ,
the "brown-shirting" now in New Orleans will only get
worse.

I really believe the police are being correct in the forced evacuation of the remaining people left behind. After all, if they don't leave their homes soon, their security bars on their windows will rust shut and then they will be trapped inside.
But then again, if they had their weapons, they could shoot off the hinges....
OK... I changed my mind!
That is the day I cease to be a live "civilian", and take as large an honor guard to Hell as possible. Is it time to water the Tree?
Let me know if you need ammo. I've got several thousand rounds I could spare if I need to.
Chris
and criminals
This whole fiasco in NO is outragous. The media swarming the scene is allowing us to see the lies of the local government even if the media hasn't quite caught on that the state and city officials are dangerously incompetant boobs.
During same press conference the city offcials stated that no emergency workers had gotton sick from the water - the same water they claim is worse then the bubonic plague for any citizens who remain.
Anyone who participates in the forced evacuation of New Orleans residents from undamaged areas is potentially guilty of serious human rights violations under US and International law.
I strongly advise all law enforcement officers, public officials, and military personnel currently on duty in the hurricane damaged areas to carefully consider the ultimate legality of any orders or instructions to remove people by force and to enter, confiscate or destroy private property under the color of emergency declarations by executive authorities.
Heads are going to roll over this, and the city and state will go bankrupt trying to pay all the court judgments. With any luck some of the power-crazed swine who are enjoying themselves breaking into undamaged houses, terrorizing old ladies, and shooting pets will, themselves, face the bar of justice.
Others will have to vet this particular link, I dont have the capability.
http://www.prisonplanet.com/archives_fema.html
Many of the articles are archived now from the original links, but still available on prisonplanet. The new Homeland Security Department and FEMA appears to be or will be the place to start many of the new changes in the Posse Comitatus Act.
What I've found troubling watching programs like COPS and other law enforcement shows, the regular LEOs are morphing more and more into military like garb.
Plenty of ammo, thanks. It's trigger fingers that might run short.
I know what you mean. My wife keeps a good 4 inch group at 100 yards with the AR15, so I've got some good backup.

Hard to believe this is happening in America.
