overall crime rates increased in all but two Houston HIDTA counties (Nueces and San Patricio) from 2001 to 2002 (most recent data). Nueces County had the highest overall crime per capita in 2002.

Homicides in the city of Houston increased by more than 8% to 278 from 2002 to 2003.

I guess none of this affects bayourod's gated community. Illegal immigration is a boon for those who can insulate themselves from its many negative aspects.

I've said it before, but it bears repeating: wait until these gated community dwellers find that their infant children are catching TB (or any number of airborne communicable diseases) from their illegal nannies. After enough of their children die from these diseases, or they contract the diseases themselves, you can bet they'll get the wake-up call.
