Received this via email from Mrs. NerdDad. This is one of the best photo essays I've seen of this terrible tragedy. It's a huge collection of photos so I chose to link directly to the gallery rather than steal all his pictures and post them directly.
The guy who created it is a Central American immigrant living in the French Quarter. It contains some very good comments with the photos.
Be sure to catch his disdain for the media in the later pictures, and particularly Brian Williams. The man has FReeper potential.

Wow! What a great bunch of pictures. It just makes you feel like you were there. He sure told a tale on the media.

Wow, NerdDad!
That was so poignant.
I got misty-eyed seeing those pics.
He documented his presentation very well.
And, his comments were most enjoyable.
Thank you so much for the post!

This is a great photo essay. I have asked the Admin Moderator to consider linking to it from some of the more important lists. It would be a shame if everyone did not get a chance to see this.

Notice that there were military or Guard troops there from day 1, and in fact from day zero, that is Sunday *before* the storm hit. He also speaks of all those helicopters, which were rescuing people the mayor didn't evacuate before the storm hit.

What a show! Thanks for posting this; it was well worth the time to go through all the pics, and lends a new perspective to the Katrina story.

Boy does this put a different "picture" to the events! The impression the left wing media gave was a fast major flood and everybody was surprised and trapped. I think a lot of the blacks that didn't leave were afraid of being robbed by their "neighbors". Louisian Democrats are a bunch of whiners. You didn't hear Missippi and Alabama whining, and they got flattened.

The photos are gone....
I was able to see them last weekend though and they were truly amazing! If you find them again, will you ping me?
Thanks!

I came across this thread that I had saved. That picture essay was great. I wanted to see them again but I didn’t save them. Anybody know how to retrieve the pictures?
