I say let 'em go. But they better go UNESCORTED and should get NO help from the feds, as if on a fishing expedition. And if they run into trouble - screw 'em. Make them sign waivers understanding what they are about to do is hazardous.

I think the same way for Iraq. The embeds *were* a good idea but the press kept clamoring to go where they wanted.

Fine, let 'em go. On their own and unescorted.

The order may not call for the police or NG to provide reporters with transportation, such as embeds in Iraq. They should be on their own with their own assets , security, etc.
There should be no obligation of the rescuers to the reporters.
