ATTN FReepers: Support Our Troops Rally in Savannah GA

Posted on 09/09/2005 12:39:49 PM PDT by Chickenhawk Warmonger

Cindy Sheehan's "Bring the Troops Home Now" movement will be in Savannah on Monday afternoon at Forsyth Park. In an effort to counter their message, Operation Iraqi Hope is holding a "Support the Troops" rally and press conference at 12 Noon in Johnson Square. PLEASE MAKE EVERY ATTEMPT TO ATTEND THE EVENT, BRING FRIENDS AND FAMILY, AND SHOW YOUR SUPPORT.

Amy Henderson will be serving as spokesperson at the Savannah press conference. Her brother, John Henderson, member of the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment which was deployed to Afghanistan, died on August 4, 2005 in a combat mission.

Operation Iraqi Hope is a humanitarian effort led by Chuck Larson, a former Major in the U.S. Army who served in the Sunni Triangle north of Baghdad. Its chief goal is to provide communities with basic necessities such as school and medical supplies. Recently, they have coordinated opposing press conferences in the cities where Bring the Troops Home Now has stopped.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO GET THE MESSAGE OUT THAT NOT ALL ARE AGAINST THE WAR, BUT, IN FACT, SUPPORT OUR TROOPS AND THEIR EFFORTS OVERSEAS. Please bring your family and friends to show your support for our troops, President Bush, and the liberation effort in Iraq.

I just sent this notice on to the Chatham YR's. Hopefully they can get some people out there. The timing is bad, just as it was in Atlanta on Thursday, so hopefully there will be more than just a few people.

Unless Ophelia comes our way, there should be a decent turnout on the Repub side - after all, this is the home of Hunter Army Airfield, and " down the road " is Ft. Stewart which is the home of the 3rd ID. We have a big Republican base here in Savannah. If I'm off that day I'll head on down there. I can't stand that woman and that goes double for her annoying baby voice. I'd like to punch her lights out.
