WASHINGTON, D.C. --Screams fill the cabin of the 757 passenger jet as knife-wielding terrorists clad in red head bands kill a passenger and seize control of the aircraft.
Chaos reigns aboard United Airlines Flight 93, the last of four jetliners to be hijacked by Al-Qaida terrorists on the harrowing morning of Sept. 11, 2001.
The stage has been set in the Discovery Channel's new 90-minute docudrama for the story of the brave passenger revolt that stopped the plane from hitting its likely target: the U.S. Capitol. The film will air at 8 p.m. CDT on Sunday, the fourth anniversary of the event.
"The Flight that Fought Back," featuring dramatizations of Bloomington, Minn., native Tom Burnett's exchanges with his wife as he helped inspire the insurrection, is the first in a proliferating string of films about the horrors and heroes of Sept. 11.
After waiting more than three years, movie makers and television networks have lifted their self-imposed lid on the worst terror attack in U.S. history and are pushing ahead with multiple films on a subject that Hollywood for a time considered taboo. Even controversial filmmaker Oliver Stone, known for fueling conspiracy theories, is in the act.

Burnett's widow, Deena Burnett, said she at first wanted nothing to do with filmmakers who are fictionalizing aspects of the events, citing the dangers of facts getting twisted. In the end, she became intimately involved in several projects, deciding that the movies will help people "think about what the passengers and crew members actually experienced ... and maybe understand why we are still fighting the war on terrorism."

Last week Showtime had Farencrap 911 on. I guess fiction was ok.
I intend to watch this one. I just read a review of the film and the response was favorable.
As someone before me said...'we started fighting back even before all the enemy shots were fired.' God bless those brave souls.
Mrs. randog and I are going to catch it, too. Looks like it's going to be a tough watch.
With the Burnetts involvement...I'll trust it over others.
Bah, Hollywood boycotts this because they don't want people to remember what happened. They want America to give in to terrorism. Let's have an accurate story of the people in the towers burning up ALIVE making a decision that leaping to their death would be a better death. Never Forget.
How about we show the pictures. Seems the media has no problem showing the dead in Iraq and NO.

See post 7. NEVER forget and God help me, I can NOT forgive.
HBO early Friday evening is showing a remarkable documentary, stunning, a compilation of video and interviews from many sources. I highly recommend it.
The HBO documentary is "In Memoriam;New York City, 9/11/01". It will show again on HBO2 Sunday 9/11 at 12;30 PM. Strange air time, but there it is.
I also saw an ad on another network, I think the History channel, that was going to show at the ssame time as the one about Flight 93. Theirs was about the air traffic controllers bring all those planes in safely in leass than 2 hours. Now THAT was another story that hasn't been told and those folks pulled off a truly herculean effort. I was hoping someone would do a documentary on that...just wish it wasn't competing with the Flight 93 show. But I'm sure there will be repeats.
The show was awesome.
The way Keiffer Sutherland did the voice over and how the film used the "24" camera shot style was very dramatic.
So many comments...
Pride, anger, vengence, honor...all these feelings came to the surface while watching it.
