Did it ever enter into your mind that FEMA was hamstrung by the mayor and the Governor? The Democrats want to make FEMA the scapegoat to hide the incompetency of both the mayor and the Governor.
While I have this thought fresh in my mind, it may be interesting to note that FEMA is under the control of the top-heavy bureaucracy known as Department Of Homeland Security. FEMA should not be hindered by a top-heavy bureaucracy when they are needed to act swiftly to save lives. Hillary Clinton and the Democrats voted along for this re-shuffling of the government bureaucracy deck after 9/11.
Like I've said in previous Katrina threads these past few days, "I hope the Democrats call for an investigation", because quite frankly, the Democrats have got dirt on their hands too.
While I believe it will probably not be pointed out that the Democrats have gone along with restructuring the federal government, but the voters need to know just who did what, and why we're here.
Afterall, our tax dollars are funding this government monstrosity known these days as the "big blame game".
I'm neither blaming or accusing no single person, based on party affiliation. Things screwed up, and the Democrats won't walk away from this scot-free.
What people fail to remember is that the worst part of the Hurricane missed NO. After the Hurricane and before the levee broke the MS Gulf coast sustained much greater Hurricane damage.
As to the levee break the Emergency Director of NO said something to the effect that 'the water is rising but the break will be fixed in several hours'. Now if that was what he told FEMA and the LA officials it is no wonder that the seriousness of the flooding was not recognized for several hours.
