So they ran with a story from a source who was even employed with the city at the time of Brown's employment.
This was reckless reporting.

As a FOX news commentator pointed out, Mike Brown oversaw FEMA's efforts in four hurricanes last year and received mostly praise for his work.

I knew something was up with that Edmond story...for some reason it just did not sit right with me.....

I agree that is probably true. And Brown probably did as best he could for Katrina and response may not have been any different than for earlier hurricanes. However, Katrina was probably the biggest disaster in U.S. history. Brown keeps Director job (for now), he is just not leading the Katrina rebuilding efforts. It is a huge job going forward and Bush is putting the best person is place for now.

Hmmm. Did they also source this through a Kinko's in Texas?
To: Dog
The long knives are out for Brown and he's screwed no matter what. He has shot himself in the foot. I don't think he deserves quite the amount of scorn be heaped on him, but that's because I understand FEMA's role--unlike the media.
I can't wait till reporters start digging into Nagin and Blanco. Still waiting......Still waiting.....

Well, we can all get some pleasure from knowing that for the past week, Gunga Dan has been sitting in the dark in his home punching the wall over and over because he does not get to cover Katrina.

Misquoting? Or maybe just "making it up out of wholecloth"?

Problem was that Brown was being crucified by media and becoming the face of the government. The press was not concentrating on any other story accept Brown. Brown was actually becoming a major distraction from the recovery effort.
Very unfair and not deserved but it is what it is.
I don't even know where to go anymore to complain. I just got hung up on by ABC Newsroom when asked why they don't report on the State of LA not letting in the Red Cross. The hurricane is only about Bush and Brown.

How odd the press over look his previous work in the aftermath of hurricanes. /sarcasm
OTOH, I have heard very negative comments about Brown from officials in Florida in regards to his managing those disasters.
