If gas prices are driving you to drink, here's the place to go: the Handlebar, 2311 W. North.
Under its Inverse Petrol-O-Matic Beer Pricing Scheme, beer prices will fall as gas prices rise.
So with gas at $3, a pint of Goose Island 312 ale is also $3. When gas hits $4, the beer's $2. Five-dollar gas gets you beer for a buck and if gas hits $6 the beer's free.
But if high gas prices don't faze you and you're in the market for a car, maybe you'd enjoy the Fine Motor Auction and Luxury Lifestyle Expo in New York this weekend.
A three-day ticket will run you $100, but you can bid on the Batmobile Michael Keaton drove in the movie (estimated at $500,000), or a 1969 Dodge Charger (only $50,000) that was used in promotions by the "Dukes of Hazzard" TV stars.
The auction organizers think a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda might bring $5 million, but if that's too rich for your blood, there will be booths selling cigars, fine wine, Swiss watches and other items living up to the "luxury lifestyle" part of the thing's name.
Keith Martin, publisher of Sports Car Market magazine, described the idea behind the event to Bloomberg News: "Put sparkly things in front of people who can afford to buy them without thinking twice."

Funny thing about your headline, I could only afford a pint of gasoline on the way to work this morning.

The rarity of this Hemi Cuda is supported by the facts; only 11 were ever built in 1971, and of that number only 7 were built for the U.S. domestic market. Lot number 5119 is one of two that were originally exported to Europe, and is now back in the U.S. This Hemi Cuda is also one of the eight automatic transmission cars built, and is one of the two that was built with the factory billboard stripes. Well good news here (Fayetteville, NC). The CITGO had gas for $2.95 today.
That looks like it might be an Iowa vanity plate (yes, those don't look like Iowa mountains). ... It smokes?!
So significant is this car that the Franklin Mint is currently working on a model of this fine example of Plymouth’s heritage.
