There was a time not too many years ago (and still true in some rural places) when you could pick up a weapon in the presence of the law and he would think nothing of it.
Now you will most likely be tackled, arrested or shot, and charged with some trumped-up offense. It's sad.
Whatever happened to the concept of citizens being the allies of the law? We once were on the same side, it was us versus the bad guys, and cops were glad for help.

That was before the police force was militarized.
Now it's the loes VS the civilians.
And it's just going to get worse as more and more of the police across the nation are replaced by x-military who have been used in "population" control and nation building.

"Whatever happened to the concept of citizens being the allies of the law?", you ask. We're reaping what we're sowing.
Here's the formula for serfdom and cultural mayhem:
Welfare state mentality + publik skool teaching (baseless self esteem + Darwinism + Malthusian & Gramscian social engineering) + political correctness + post-modernism - Christian worldview and morality
Based on the secular postmodern worldview, what would respect for the law be based on now? Essentially "God is dead", so there is no law giver, nor is man any longer created in the image and likeness of Him, therefore requiring obedience and self restraint reflective of His character. Everything is up for personal interpretation. It will increasingly be that only "might is right".
