This is almost making my husband's tin foil hat conspiracy theory seem plausible.
He thinks Blanco intentionally created the pandemonium in NO in order to either blame it on Bush or to force Bush to federalize the troops, at which time all the Dems would be screaming that he superceded the state's rights and calling for his impeachment.

He's not alone. And I don't need a foil hat to think the same thing as him.

Accusing Blanco of intending anything more complex than diverting responsibility from herself is overestimating her, in my opinion.

Your husband is not the only one.

It could so easily have been a desperate demonicRAT strategy.

He thinks Blanco intentionally created the pandemoniumI have friend who is otherwise a really good guy, but is also very involved in the local (Connecticut) Democrat machine.
He's only seen the story that's been presented by the MSM and I spent an hour tonight telling him the other side of the story.
He said, immediately, "I know exactly what Blanco is doing. She is making sure that no one, absolutely no one, sees the books that record what as really been happening in LA the past few generations".
Would she kill the city of NO to achieve that goal?
I think that she would.

I had to get away from the tube tonight by the time Joe, Greata, and Arron started the same mantra as the others. Angry, I was not angry, I was ballistic at the reporting. Joe Scumbag at MSNBC is now the worst of the worse.
The MSM has lost it all, they are beyond belief. I did note the Bloviator sees a peek of light from under the door, when he said the fog is beginning to lift as to what happened in NO. But that is SOP for him, he runs with the herd until emails roll in with facts to point out the error of his ways. Then he pretends he always was up to speed on the issue. Think SBVFT and recall how he hated them at first for even daring to question sKerry's honor.

Remember those who shot at the helicopters on the roof of the hospital. One talk show host here in Florida suggested something bigger was going on like the mob stalling for time while they got valuables out of town.
