We know the President's hands were tied due to incompetence in LA. If he had taken the bait and called an insurrection then they were without a doubt ready to call for his impeachment. I remember on the Katrina threads seeing something where Dems were wringing hands in glee earlier last week wanting to impeach him for being on vacation (so they are certified loons -- we know this)
We know that the President was asking her to turn this over to the Feds last week and she refused. We know, though it's been swept under the carpet now) he called an emergency before the storm even struck... he WAS engaged and he WAS concerned.
So here is my theory. What if the President had called their bluff and by Thursday staged the Military outside NOLA alongside the Red Cross, FEMA, etc... and THEN made certain the cameras saw this and KNEW they were staged and ready to rescue those people, but the Governor would not sign documents to allow them to proceed and save these people.
What would have happened had he done that -- or something similar>
Remember Friday night Geraldo saying he would have walked out of the city and not stayed there and they switched to Shep Smith who said they WERE NOT allowing people to walk out of the city.
ANYONE who watched Landrieu's performance a week ago Tuesday on WWL-TV would be very, very concerned about what is going to happen to this money.
And Sean could have proven it if he hadn't froze.
Has he figured out they are not spread out around the country and he can't keep up. Heard there is only 8,000 left at the Astrodome as of today.
That is one of the good things about TX getting so many refugees, imo. We visited NOLA often just to listen to the music.
And think of all the fantastic REAL Cajun restaurants that will be popping up.
If Texas doesn't go bankrupt, it won't all be bad. I do wonder if housing prices are going to skyrocket. Housing for that many people is going to be tough, I'd think.
I agree...I have wondered in amazement the silence from the Republican side.
I have come to this conclusion...they know something and are not letting on until all have been cared for. I hope that is it anyway.
I believe President Bush will be vindicated for all the abuse he has had to endure from the enemy, and when that time comes all those who have perpetrated this evil will pay dearly, and it will come from the Hands of God The Father.
He will not allow His Children to be beaten up forever.
President Bush I am praying for you and your vindication
The Neville family, ancient bone structure of NO music scene, is here now. They've always hung out, just now they'll 'be here for a while'.
And think of all the fantastic REAL Cajun restaurants that will be popping up.
There is already a plan per Papa Neville for Nawlins natives to gather weekly here to maul red beans 'n rice and all else that is Holy Cajun. As well there should be. And from that we should expect 'refugee' cuisine, as honest here as it was there, to open new restaurants.
If Texas doesn't go bankrupt, it won't all be bad. I do wonder if housing prices are going to skyrocket. Housing for that many people is going to be tough, I'd think.
Houston has a housing glut: result of recent over-building. Texas can handle all this. Perry has already extracted commitments from Medicaid to cover concomitant health costs. It's really a good thing, all around.
AMEN!
Wow.
It's not just what people are saying about him. The fact is the American people have developed a majority opinion that the federal government failed to help the people of New Orleans when they needed help. That is a massive lie that needs to be addressed and the President can easily address it as I have indicated.
I was responding to the idea that WE have a responsibility to defend the President against lies he won't challenge himself.
Is the President too busy to state the simple truth?
In politics, charges unanswered are considered true.
I raise my cup o' chicken soup to Major Garrett. Some good digging. Just wish this would get more press coverage than Geraldo and Alessandra Stinky.
The pre-qualifying statements by Repubs have put me into a big time depression, They are going to lose the election for us if they keep pandering.
What a bunch of pansies,
The President is above using the tactics employed by the Left. That is why he doesn't respond to all their maniacal slandering, and that is why he wouldn't do as you suggest above. His focus is on doing his job and getting it done, while the Left continues screeching from the sidelines doing nothing. He is not going to play their silly little games with them.
Once the dust settles, the truth will begin to come out. Just how much of it, we'll have to wait and see. But whatever happens, the Left will not have gained any advantage whatsoever. The great harm they have tried to inflict on Bush, they've only inflicted on themselves.
I wouldn't call 13% a majority by any stretch of the imagination.
That is very, very true. I have no doubt that the President puts his full faith and trust in God, and that God protects him and gives him the strength to withstand the incomprehensible abuse and hatred that the Left spews at him. The Spirit is very strong in him. That's the primary reason those who hate him do so with such rabid, deranged intensity. When they look at him, they are reminded of the God they hate. For as Christ told his disciples, if the world hates you, it is because they hated Him first.
When I look at the President, when I see his calm and strength in the face of such evil, I see the grace of the Holy Spirit. When I look at the hordes of heathens who rant and rage, I see nothing but the spirit of the antichrist.
Those paragraphs make me even more paranoid that the Governor deliberately and willfully let people die. It is homicide at the hands of the state, imo.
