Does this subject belong in a science class though? I am not that familiar with the topic but I heard it is based in Creationism. If that is true, then it belongs in religious type classes.

IT belongs there no less than evolution does. The order and structure of the world demand just by plain reason that order and structure designed order and structure. Chance creating order and structure is anti-reason. These people fear the simple truth and concoct intricate deceptions to ease there own consciences

I love the FEAR this causes in some people.

How could a simple book created by man stir up thousands of years of of fear? of Love? of Hate? of Hope?

Do you think there is a human with that kind of capabilities? That power to last through the centuries. What arogance!

Creationism is not a religion - It is the only possible explanation and that explanation only creates more questions - and that causes FEAR in many. Enough FEAR to cause enough HATE to try to destroy the reason for the FEAR.

Evolutionist show that FEAR.

I will agree to one point - "Intelligent Design" is an insult to the REAL Beginning - whatever and however it was.

It has nothing to do with theology. It is mostly mathematics-based. Intelligent Design simply says, "there are certain marks that indicate that an object or system is the result of an intelligent designer". This includes humans or other creatures that are intelligent designers. To put the method shortly, Intelligent Design looks for systems that are organized within a chaotic system. Dembski has written extensively about the mathematics behind this in his books. I've written a short explanation of the idea here:

There is also another aspect of Intelligent Design which is focused on removing certain assumptions from science, namely materialism. Materialism is a rather bad philosophy anyway, for numerous reasons.
