Yep, I have mentioned this on a couple of threads. The US Army Corp of Engineers wanted to put flood gates where the Lake goes into the Gulf. That would have kept the storm surge out of the Lake and the 17th street canal levee would not have been breached.

First no levees failed. They all worked as designed. No water went over the top (as far as we know). It was the canal flood walls that failed from below. Those flood walls are not levees.

It would be nice if the MSM could understand these dynamics. I amnot a professional engineer, yet I figured it out the first day.
