Louisiana governor should be jailed - Katrina
McCall ^

There are those who seem to take great delight in placing the blame on events along the Gulf Coast on our president. Maybe some light should be shed on a few facts.

When the folks in the Superdome were waiting for buses to take them to Houston, and while the mayor was crying for buses, he had at his disposal, more than 400 school buses. The governor sat on her duff as the storm hit without calling up the guard. She also had at her disposal many state police.

"Nagan should share the jail cell with her."

============================================

I thought the same thing at first.

All Nagin had to rely on was Blanco. I forgive him.

I've seen privates two weeks into their basic training cycle who had more leadership ability than the governor of Louisiana.

I'm no fan of Nagin but where was he going to take all these people if he woukld have used the buses to evcuate before the storm. The stupid Gov. Blanco did not order the red cross to open shelters across the state. She did not declare a state of emergency before the storm hit. She didn't use any part of the state's emergency plan.

What you saw in Nagin was a desperate man who had been completely and utterly abandoned by the very source of help he needed at the time of the crisis - his own governor. I find no fault in him.

Nagin has as much fault as anyone in this fiasco.

That he was unprepared, unthinking, unable to exercise leadership, unable to keep or regain control or see the handwriting on the wall is just the surface.

He wanted the job, changed his party affiliation to get it because he knew the machine would get it for him, but only if there was a "D" after his name. He was about as serious in the performance of his duties as a Mardi Gras drunk on the fourth day. The whole bunch of them, the Parrish Council and President, The Levee Boards and every corrupt ward-heeler should be in jail, and the rub is that they all should have been years ago.

Are you aware of what Nagin said after meeting with the President?

At least their votes will be diluted. Politics isn't third world banana republic in most of this country. Here's hoping.

Is there recall for the LA governor? I didn't think there was. I know the TX governor cannot be recalled.

So should the Landrieu's & Nagin.

Seems that LA was just a 60-year, DNC social-experiment gone bad.

Yes, I am. Ex post facto does not cut it with me. He failed, early and often.

Let him cuss and cry, the facts are these: His "leadership" caused much more suffering than was necessary in a very bad situation. Adult leadership, forethought, attention to detail and focus were necessary.

He is just another sorry excuse for what passes for NO and LA politicians, only this time, it hit the fan.

These are the people that voted, the king of corruption, Edwin Edwards into office for 4 terms. Well, I guess the 4th one didn't really count because he was running against David Duke, former Grand Dragon Wizard Dude of the KKK.

But, my point is they have a very very slow learning curve down there. I can say this because I'm from Louisiana.

Ray Nagin ... says " I was here", just what was he doing?

Recall in the IMMEDIATE aftermath of 9-11, Rudy Giuliani was right smack in front of the WTC. The police had to physically get him out of harms way.

I believe the one to fry will be Blanco.

At worst, Nagin has lost his job.

Knowing LA as I do, I would bet that there are meetings going on hot and heavy into the late hours. All the fat cats are trying to figure how to distance themselves from all this and still retain control. Huey is turning over in his grave, Earl is spinning the other way.

Nagin will get a pass, and if not will play the race card, it's possible Blanco will check in to the nuthouse to avoid justice, but I would bet that the democrat party has sent reinforcements and a platoon of PR types. Landreiu is drinking heavily and if she's not, she should be.

Personally, I have no faith that there is anyone in LA with enough stones to throw the whole bunch of them out.

=============================

Wait another week when the body counts go through the morgues in 3 states (LA doesn't have enough morgues).

Blanco will go BONKO on her way to the BIGHOUSE.

From your keyboard to God's ear, pard. I can only hope that the democrat party hasn't got enough PR liars to save this bunch of crooks. However, I have seen these people dodge the silver bullet too many times to have much faith.

On one hand, Nagin may be in a bit over his head. On the other hand, he's trying to do his job, and running into an immovable obstacle in the form of the Governor. Looking back, I think the time he "lost it", he was absolutely disgusted with the situation.

Edwin Edwards' fourth term was the result of a bad choice presented to Louisiana. Classic lesser of two evils. To the point that George H.W. Bush and Pat Robertson publicly stated that if they were Louisianans they would have to vote for Edwards instead of Duke. Edwards was slimey but Duke? Unchristian words best describe Duke. How the hey did he slip under the radar of the Louisiana Republicans.

Duke tried the angle of playing the born again Christian. When asked about his past klan activity he blew it off as a "youthful indiscretion". BZZZT, wrong answer Mr. Duke. Try sin. Blatant ugly sin.

I was living in Houston Texas at that time. At that time I wrote off the Democrats as hopelessly reprobate, the triggering event being the election of Leslie Perez (a trannie and a convicted murderer) to the Harris COunty Democratic Committee.

Maybe this will send the Democratic Party in Louisiana into its death spiral. Not just for political reasons, but because the Dems in Louisiana are holding it back in the 1930's. There is blood on the Dem's hands.

I'm glad the DemOrats are clamoring for an investigation. Because, it will expose Governor Blanco, and mayor Nagin for what they really are. THIEVING FAIURURES! Where did the fed FEMA money go?
