Well...I've decided to get one. I don't really have an interest in them and my formerly liberal (now converted) wife, didn't like the idea. After watching the news at New Venice these last few days I told her I was going to get one and she didn't object. I'd like to get an old Walther P38. At least I would be interested in it, if I owned it.

Ever fired one?

I'd discourage you from buying something you've never punched holes in paper with first.

Peraonally, I'd go for something newer, but if you're stuck on it--

Be careful and PLEASE have it checked out by a reliable gunsmith BEFORE you buy it.

Same goes for ANY used firearm.

A firearm that hasn't been properly cared for can kill or injure you in more ways than I can count.
