Gas prices in central Texas never quite topped 3$. 2.99 was about as high as I saw. Prices usually go up for holiday weekends and then drop back. Filled up fri. 2.75 per gal.

There's a glut of crude now because of the release of emergency stockpiles (announced by the Germans of all people), but with no way to refine it, it won't help much with gasoline inventories.

Gainesville fuel is 2.74 off the freeway, 2.99 in
most of Ft Worth. Racetrac at Jackboro/Loop820 is the exception, what a ripoff at 3.19.

Riding my Beemer R1100RT I get almost 300 miles for a
6.8 gallon tank of fuel. Now if I could just keep these
%#$#&! Texas cage drivers from running into me...

Gas prices in Toronto have dropped below $1 per litre today. I think the "price gouging," er, gas crisis has ended in the glare of media spotlights.

For now.
