The South Bay Wildlife Refuge here on Humboldt Bay was renamed after a passenger, Richard Guadagno. He was the director here at the time of his death.

There is a lot of footage about Richard and of his family. He did not make a phone call but he sure as heck seemed like one of the folks who would've taken action.

I heard he would protect people as quickly as he protected the environment. I am glad he was on the flight.

Thanks for letting me know this - I'm thrilled the place was renamed after a hero who saved lives.

There is a memorial in downtown San Rafael CA for a passenger of flight 93, Lauren Grandcolas, who was from the area.
