Still, I applaud what Arnold did here. He gave the people of California the respect they deserve. Good for him. It's just that the legislature has already betrayed the essence of Prop 22 with all their Domestic Partner stuff. I fail to see what's protected. Your kids still get a heavy dose of it in public schools. California is one of the last places I would want to raise a child.
Well that's your first mistake. I wouldn't send my kids to a public school anywhere.
So, will this slow down the NAMBLA types who are just itching to "Marry" so they can "Adopt" little boys, or is that already legal with the domestic partners laws?
"I am all for protecting marriage. But how safe are society's standards if you give away the substance of marriage to gay partners?"
Not very safe, but the gay activists know this. They want more. They dont want the distinction left at all, they want to obliterate 'heterosexism' - dont ask, its a cultural marxist thing ya know. Leaving even a hint of traditional culture around is dangerous in their view.
" I mean if they have marriage by everything BUT the name, how is society better off? I'm really unclear on that."
Um, going 100% down the slippery slope is worse than going 90% is all I can say.
Actually, it is probably harder to raise a kid in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama today than in California.
It's how you raise your kids and interact with them, the Demorat legislature tries to have their way, but in the end they really cannot directly harm my kids.
