I was in Raleigh during Floyd (and Goldsboro during Fran). Interesting to look at the comparisons. People were still living in FEMA trailers when I left NC in 2002.
Well theres a suprise.
Not!
I can't decide which I'm more surprised about. The story itself, or that CBS reported it.
Village idiots they are, now with fewer villages to claim them.
wee.
yes go visit some time, they don't even hide it.
I continue to be amazed. It was yesterday that Broussard played the employee's mother who drowned story. Now we find that the nursing home refused to evacuate. Incredible. Even more incredible is that it was reported on CBS.
wee.
Welcome to Louisiana politics. While the pols in places like New Jersey are merely corrupt, the pols in LA are corrupt AND stupid.
And as we can see here, that's a really deadly combination. And they actually expect us to just hand them a blank check and look away while they spend it!
How did CBS report this?
Is there an online article on this too?
Louisiana: It's like having a Banana Republic right here in the US.
Please please please someone find a link for this, I will forward to brother drudge
Anytime I think I'm a slacker who could have done better... I think of democrats, and suddenly I look like a king.
Such a surprise.
"And they actually expect us to just hand them a blank check and look away while they spend it!"
Not an entirely irrational expectation, looking back over the last several decades. Times do change, though. Or at least I hope so.
And did you hear all the carping about FEMA then?
Did you hear the citizens of this state screaming "Where's my stuff?"
I hate to judge people by appearances but this guy really looks the part.
Alright, I can't take it any more, I want to know what kind of a man leaves his mother in a nursing home for 5 days while she calls every day begging to get out? Just what the hell is wrong with these people?
Who was that Louisiana Sherriff that was in a few of the 70s James Bond movies?
"Who was that Louisiana Sherriff that was in a few of the 70s James Bond movies?"
JW Pepper.
