I have been on record here, with many flames, from the beginning saying Nagin was screwed by the Gov. Nagin is a reformer, was exposing corruption and the old Morial regime in NO, is honest and voted for Bush and Jindal.

He strayed off the plantation and I will bet a thousand bucks Blanco tied his hands in some way.

You might be right, Nagin could be a big help before this is over, but he had better watch his back.

I have been giving him a large benefit of the doubt. He hasn't conducted himself with the finesse of Giuliani but I wouldn't have wanted that job for all the tea in China. The whole mess behind the mess is unravelling, I think we will know within a matter of days.

I trust your judgment about Blanco and Nagin. I have not been impressed with Nagin, but of the two, Blanco clearly seems to be the most culpable. IMHO, she has blood on her hands.

" I have been on record here, with many flames, from the beginning saying Nagin was screwed by the Gov. "

From what we know now, it appears that Nagin screwed up .
But, Gov " That Would Be Me !! " Blanco screwed up Big Time.
And it's pretty obvious that if the Democrats fail to make FEMA and President Bush the fall guys- they are going to throw Nagin under the yellow school bus.
The Democrats cannot have the public realizing how a female Democrat imploded as the Commander in Chief of the Louisiana National Guard .
Or how she failed as a leader and decision maker.
Because of Hillary in 08.
The black man is expendable in order to save Hillary from Blanco's tarnish.
Nagin best be saving every scrap of evidence he can about communications , orders and road blocks from Blanco.
And if he's summoned to a strategy session in Ft Marcy Park- he should decline.

People were calling in from LA today and saying that Nagin was on the streets, in the Dome even picking up bodies. That the media has him pegged wrong. That, after his conversation with Bush on Marine One, sends up question marks.
Once I read his bio, e.g. changed parties to be elected, ran on anti-corruption agenda, cleaned house when he got in and filled it with business men, etc. it does make you wonder - was he set up? Would really like to know the answer.

Knowing little about LA politics until last week, I would agree with you. Apparently Nagin may have a D behind his name but he is not part of the club.

We have had a legislature doing everything they can to cripple our R governor - first R governor since Spiro Agnew - even if the decisions harm all of Maryland. It is truly despicable and in LAs case deadly.
