MAJOR GENERAL BENNETT C. LANDRENEAU
The Adjutant General, Louisiana National Guard
Major General Bennett C. Landreneau is the Adjutant
General for Louisiana. He is responsible for the deployment and coordination of programs, policies and plans affecting the more than 11,000 members of the Louisiana Army and Air National Guard. He is also the Director of the Louisiana Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.
The General began his military career in 1969. He enlisted in the Louisiana National Guard as an infantryman and was commissioned an ordinance officer in 1971. He later transferred to the Engineer Branch in 1973. During Operation Desert Storm, General Landreneau served on active duty as Commander, 527th Engineer Battalion in Southwest Asia. He later served as Commander of the 225th Engineer Group. General Landreneau served as Commander of the 256th Separate Infantry Brigade (Mechanized) prior to his appointment to his present position as the Adjutant General of Louisiana.
