To: beyond the sea

This public safety thing, or safety thing, is being pushed way too hard. No matter what they do in Congress, we are all going to get old and pass on. We can't do much about hurricanes or other natural disasters. Congress can't stop earthquakes just by passing another law. They can spend money, though, as if the country is a railroad and having the latest locomotives means locomotives won't crash anymore, or put a fire engine on every street corner so houses won't catch fire anymore.

Why don't you know that Bush could have kept all those guardsmen home from Iraq and sent them down to the Gulf Coast? Give 'em some palm fronds to wave a wind that would blow the hurricane back out to sea...

As hokey a plan as that would be, and humor aside, I've have been satisfied to hear it from Pelosi because at least it's a PLAN. It may be a bad plan but it is a plan. Which is something the dims don't offer. They just rant.
