Pygmy chimpanzees dubbed "hippies of the forest" for resolving conflicts through sex rather than violence are dying out faster than ever in post-war Democratic Republic of Congo, a conservationist said on Tuesday. I guess the old "make love, not war" cliche just doesn't quite cut it.

"The bonobo's outlook is to search for peace," Andre said. "All their conflicts are resolved peacefully, often through sex. They are the hippies of the forest."
And here's the female of the species:

I like this idea about resolving conflicts through sex. It would give "international relations" a whole new twist.

Thats not what I was trying to imply. I was shocked to see so much of their sickening sexual practices on film, in a family hour. Its all ok to show barnyard sex on t.v. because its nature. I shouldn't be shocked about anything though, huh

It's probably not all that bad watching chimps go at it. Hell, I've seen dogs and livestock do worse.

consenting adults, and then it's a perversion ;^)>. There. Now it's right.

"I actually saw a show on some nature thingy channel, it was fascinating. They are truly decadent, even for animals. I mean it really was sex with everyone, all the time, crossing gender lines willy-nilly. No kidding, I saw this on t.v."
I think I saw the same show. It was one of the most politically correct pieces of tripe posing as science. Paraphasing woman announcer: Unlike the aggrssive and violent types of primates, the bonobo chimps are lead by females, who solve their disputes peacefully.... The bonobos freely engage in sex with each other, without regard to gender and without jealosy. This eliminates mating disputes that would divide the tribe...etc. The whole thing was like that, with the narrator interpreting every action in terms of human motives and attitudes. Damn hippy chimps. On the bright side there was some hot girl on girl bonobo action.
