Jay-Z and Rhymefest React to Kanye’s Anti-Bush Comments

As Kanye West’s scathing comments about the media, the government, and the president’s handling of Hurricane Katrina become old news, rappers and other figures are still reacting to his unscripted NBC rant. Jesse Jackson praised Kanye’s sentiments on Larry King Live, and Jay-Z and Rhymefest have both recently spoke on the rapper’s remarks.

“I’m backing Kanye 100%,” Jay-Z told Billboard. “What’s going on? Why were people so slow to react? I don’t understand it.”

Another one of Kanye’s comrades and fellow Chi-town rapper, Rhymefest, had some harsh words regarding the handling of the disaster as it relates to blacks.

“Black people, man, we – I’m starting to think that we are some of the softest people on the planet,” he said. “We’ll stand up to each other but we won’t stand up to the people who don’t really like us. And then when we stand up to the people that don’t like us, everybody else is like ‘ooooh. Look what he did.’ Instead of looking at George Bush like, ‘why won’t Satan help us?’ Of course Satan don’t like you. Where’s the surprise,” he asks.

Rhymefest insisted that Black people should be responsible for themselves.

“Why didn’t we have water and canned food to take care of ourselves or a plan in a time of crisis? This is on us.”

Jay-Z plans on making sure that next time a disaster takes place, there will be funds reserved specially to help black people. He expressed a desire to collaborate with Sean “Diddy” Combs to create this type of savings.

“Just in case anything like this happens in the future, we can do what the elder Bush and [former President Bill] Clinton are doing for our people specifically," Jay-Z said.

Say now, that's a good idea. But a word of advice, don't let the Democrats handle the donations. When you need them, all you'll find is an IOU.

I agree with Jay-Z...assuming he was referring to the idiots who didn't evacuate when told to do so.

Jay-Z, you'd be onto something if you asked that question of the Mayor of New Orleans.

Note to moron Leftists. When you are at a charity event and go up on stage and rant and rave your wacko hate filled political views, MILLIONS of people snap their checkbooks closed and say "SCREW YOU LOSERS". There is a time and place for everything. That was neither.

"I want to start a fund for nothing but white people."

A fund for white people only would be confiscated by the courts at the behest of the ACLU. However, there is in essence a huge fund set aside for minorities only. It's called affirmative action.

Reading this, I am without response to such insane thought processes.

These people are voluntarily marginalizing themselves, hoping that white, liberal guilt will continue to enable their infantile behavior.

The only appropriate response to these mindsets is to treat them as you should treat a young child having a tantrum. Ignore or punish the behavior. Do not try to reason with it.

Has Grandmaster Melle Mel weighed in yet on the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2003, vis-à-vis the continued funding of the administrative costs and the restrictions imposed by H.R. 4328?

Biz Markie has spoken out eloquently on this issue, as has Chingy and the DeeOhh Double Gee, fo shizzle.

I didn't see the original incident on TV. But had I been watching, and an idiot started blaming President Bush, I would have quickly switched the channel.

Can any of these rocket scientists name the last WHITE mayor of New Orleans???? Hmmmm?????

If you haven't been to New Orleans (not to get drunk and flash your boobs at strangers) and had some real interaction with local officials, police, politicians and the like, you really have no idea of what you are talking about if you are throwing around blame in this crisis.

This storm hit Biloxi harder that N.O. but the most damage isn't in Biloxi because they are corrupt scumbag derelict poverty pimps (at least not in the same league). N.O. is THE most corrupt city in the country. They even make Chicago and Newark look like Topeka and Tulsa by comparison (and that's a hard thing to do). N.O. is completely infested by crime and half of the crime comes from the politicians, beaurocrats and police. N.O. is the only city in the US which had its police chief convicted for being involved in murder for hire stings along with dozens of police officers. Ask anybody in Federal law enforcement if they would EVER cooperate with a local authority in N.O.

And yet these rocket scientists with the gigantic diamond rolex watches want to call Bush "Satan?" It just illustrates that they don't know anything about their own people. Let THESE geniuses come down and rebuild N.O. instead. And I'd love to see how much money they raise from the so called 'civil rights' community to help black people. I'd bet my house that it will be less than Walmart (the one which was being looted by N.O.'s finest last week).

Somebody needs to feed those rapper thugs and the Rev-rund Jack-sonn some smart pills. Not that the pills would do any good.
