My question was intended to be rhetorical, however it may well be answered. If there is a good chance your friends sustained a measurable loss, then I'd suggest they contact FEMA and get a case number; if they are simply smart people who got out of the storm's path, they should wait and leave the lines open for those in desperate conditions.
