Leadership by crying. An amazing new low.
You think Louisiana is beginning to regret that they did not elect Bobby Jindal? He would have been tailor made for this situation.
Critics have long derided Mrs. Blanco for her tendency to call for studies and special commissions to find solutions for the state's biggest problems.
Typical liberal approach to any problem. Maybe Ms. Blanco was waiting for instructions from moveon before taking any action.
We also thought that after the declaration of martial law (or equivalent) that the order of "looters will be shot on sight" was automatic as well.
Blanco showed us otherwise.
Another angry and ugly feminist. When all else fails, cry. Great way to govern.
Both should be horse-whipped, then fired.
The buck don't stop in Loooosiana. Unless, of course, you've taken it upon yourself to threaten to punch out the President.
I think the openess of the Bush Administration to an investigation will make the liberals uneasy.
"But defenders say that this merely reflects Mrs. Blanco's deliberative temperament. Shortly after Mrs. Blanco took office, Dan Juneau, president of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry, defended her as a woman who "likes to accumulate as much information as possible before finalizing a major decision.""
AMAZING - this is exactty how they described Clinton! And what "major decisions" did he ever make? Whether or not to --- in Monica's mouth?
Listening to Jindal lately, I'd say the ballot for governor in Louisian should have been labelled Dumb and Dumber.
I disagree. He's joined all the other Louisiana Congresscritters in running about yelling "It's not my fault!"
Does Blanco's terrible response to Katrina make her a 'racist?' Does she 'not care about black people' just like President Bush?
Serious question. What power and authority does a congressman have in regardes to a state emergency, evacuation, national guard, US military, and relief efforts? I can't think of any.
I can't help but laugh at the Rats. They govern, they screw up, people die, and then they want to punch the President.
Blanco was blubbering on TV before the levees even broke. Suck it up lady. I'm sick and tired of female leaders getting the "OK" from people for publicly crying, especially on live television. Crying is unacceptable if you are the governor of a state. People look to their leaders in times of crisis and to have the poor people of Louisiana seeing their leader blubbering on national TV must have made them feel really great about their future. No wonder some people think women shouldn't hold higher office--this was the worst possible example of a woman taking charge and remaining publicly stoic.
That's the truth. He's been pitiful with his whining. Where the heck is David Vitter on any of this? All I hear is Landrieu threatening to punch the president.
I think you are right. When all the simpering and hysteria dies down, and a real investigation starts, the Dim's will say "let's just 'move on'(.org)".
They will scurry like the cockroaches they are when the bright lights shine on this mess.
