Bush asked Americans to open their hearts and pocketbooks and homes to flood victims...and that's exactly what's happening...private donations and private efforts are helping hundreds of thousands. All this will be used as a stick to beat Bush: 'The feds and Bush didn't care so the average American had to pick up the ball...' You can imagine the pictures they'll dig up. No white faces. Just some poor black man holding the limp body of a child and wading through flood waters....

C-Span reading the Times Picayune editorial this am, slamming FEMA. No matter what the laws are, Blanco can't be blamed for worrying about putting the state under FEMA's power. It's all about Bush 'shifting blame'. I hit the remote.

He should answer every question kennedy asks with, "I'll cross that bridge when I come to it." With that in mind, I'll laugh every time tubby Teddy asks a question.

Please, please do it...let America see your hateful, racist, hearts up close and personal.
They are delusional if they believe this will endear them to the American public at large.....
The Democrats self destruction continues......ignorant and naive to the end they will be.......IMHO....

The dems didn't care how many poor people drowned in NO, and they don't care how many die in race riots, nor do they care for the country. They are despicable.

Man, the Democrats are really desperate. This is going to be fun to watch. I can't wait until Teddy and Chuck ask Roberts about people's constitutional right to free health care and free automobiles.

I watched the Tavis Smiley Show tonight. The water has barely begun to pump and the democrats are plotting already.
I saw a bit of that show last night, too, and had to turn it off after just a few minutes (I was literally getting sick at my stomach at the calculated attempt to score political points on the back of this disaster).
Woke up this morning heavily burdened and prayed earnestly for God to silence the race-baiters and instead doubly bless the efforts of the good people all across this country who are helping.
What a contrast between the race-baiters and the thousands of white families all across America who are welcoming black families into their communities, churches, schools and homes with open arms and overflowing hearts. (Of course, it's not just white/black, but I mention that as a powerful balance to the race-baiting).
I pray that there will be more and more reports and pictures like the one here in a another thread showing the new black student being warmly welcomed (with an arm around the shoulders) by a white classmate. God save us from those who bear false witness and speak division.

he scenes of devastation featuring primarily poor African-American residents in New Orleans have highlighted the widening gap between rich and poor, said Senator Edward M. Kennedy, Democrat of Massachusetts. Widening gap between rich and poor , what makes them "rich" and "poor" ? W.O.R.K.!!!
Sonehow working for a living has become the evil thing to do. Not EXPECTING everything to be handed to one by govt is bad.

LOL, the Dems "strategy" of two Americas, again?
Common sense Americans know who runs the "America" that has consistently failed its black constituency.

Can you say, "Desperation."

What a bunch of desperate, race baiting bigots the democrats are.

Major boomerang building here.
Many, many black people, who are being helped by private charities, have been quoted recently as saying they never trusted white people before but this Katrina experience has completely changed their thinking.
As usual, dim/lib perceptions have no basis in reality.

Senate Democrats said yesterday that they will invoke the vast disparities in income and living conditions laid bare by the Hurricane Katrina disaster to sharpen their questioning of Supreme Court nominee John G. Roberts Jr. at his confirmation hearings next week.
Stupid is as stupid does. The American public isn't going to buy into questioning a Supreme Court nominee about Katrina or what happened in New Orleans.

A fillibuster is pre-ordained. The democrats will find some fragile excuse to proclaim Roberts as being an "extraordinary circumstance." (For example, Mr. Roberts, isn't it true you wipe your arse after deficating?) The MSM will back up the dems. (For example, isn't it racist to wipe your arse?)
The question will then be, what does McCain do after he has been made to look like a fool? Will he admit that the "deal" is worth shit and vote for the Constitutional Option or will he engage in the same pretzel twisting exercise as the dems to find Roberts to be an extraordinary circumstance? I say he pretzels.
