"Welfare recipients in the county were issued emergency food stamp vouchers on Friday and Saturday by personnel with the Mississippi Department of Human Services. A rumor was subsequently spread in the city that the vouchers had to be used by midnight Saturday or they were no longer good."
Does no one work in these states?

Seems not. I guess that answers another question, "What do the people on 'COPS' do during the day?" Nothing.

Does no one work in these states? Rumor has it that there are openings as bus drivers, but you'd have to ask the Mayor.

You need to visit to get the true picture. If I said how things really are, I might get accused and flamed. (I must be a chicken, huh?)
Just take my word, there are people who do work. The population has changed over the last 15 years in some of these towns, so now there are more and more people who just collect checks.

I resent that. I live in Mississippi and I work hard and so do most of the people in this state. Quit stereotyping us just because we have a bunch of welfare recipients in the Mississippi Delta.
