Curious,wonder if there are stats races on welfare,races on crime,I am not trying to be rude.Just wanted to get the facts.If I'm wrong,I'm wrong,and sorry,Can anyone enlighten me to the facts.
We know the Census Bureau has the numbers on welfare, and the Bureau of Justice has the race numbers in regards to crime, but they don't capsulize it (as far as I can tell) in a way that is easy to quickly decipher. We do know that by sheer population numbers there are more whites on welfare roles, committing crimes, etc. - but statistically, it would no surprise me to see a larger *percentage" of blacks on welfare or in jail. But at that level you cannot break it down purely by race. You have to consider societal and economic factors as well.
Simply put, what's the difference between a poor, white person in the deep south and a poor, black person on the other side of the same town? Not much as far as I can see. Both would be similarly disposed to staying on welfare and/or committing crime, even violent crime. Here in Texas, we have a major problem with poor whites in methamphetamine rings, making and selling their own drugs, and robbing people when that money runs out. But that goes against the perception of drugs being the "black man's burden."
