I just saw Mike Brown on CNN. He was front and center in a group with that unmistakable deer-in-the-headlights look. Or sacrificial lamb. Take your pick. If he'd started crying, I wouldn't have been surprised.

Chertoff was in camos, over Brown's shoulder, looking quietly competent. His expression was more like: "This idiot isn't going to take me down" or "This idiot can't do anything" or even "I found my patsy".

It was a picture worth a thousand words if you saw it.

I think we'll soon hear no more about Mr. Brown.

It's consistent. I don't see him as a sacrificial lamb at all though. As far as reading Chertoff's thoughts from an image goes, it can't be done.
