Dean Statement on Administration's Political Response to Hurricane Katrina
The Democratic Party (blech!) ^ | 9/6/2005

Posted on 09/06/2005 4:49:09 PM PDT by Buck W.

Washington, DC - DNC Chairman Howard Dean released the following statement in response to President Bush's travel today to Louisiana amid reports that his Administration is now enacting a political strategy to address criticisms raised over his Administration's failure to respond to hurricane Katrina:

"Based on today’s reports, it seems clear that President Bush’s visit today is just another callous political move crafted by Karl Rove. It’s just appalling to see how quickly President Bush and Karl Rove have mobilized a political strategy in their own defense, but simply failed to mobilize a swift response to either keep the people in the Gulf Coast region safe in the first place or aid the victims in the aftermath of the storm.

"Thousands of people have lost their lives. Our nation faces difficult times as we address the painful aftermath of Katrina, yet President Bush is worried about shifting blame and passing the buck? Shouldn’t he be worried about restoring stability, plans to evacuate survivors, and ensuring that our communities have the resources they need to help the victims of this tragedy rebuild their lives? Now is a time for leadership not partisanship. This is one failure we will not allow Rove and the GOP attack machine to spin away with their usual barrage of photo-ops, misinformation, smear campaigns and press conferences."

As I've just posted on another thread, Howie Dean is already preparing the next DNC/Moveon campaign under the cover of "hurricane relief"..... they will seek to 'mobilize' as many of the refugees as possible into Cindy Sheehan style campaigns, coming soon to a city near you:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1478704/posts?page=113#113

Dean is such a raging hypocrite (no surprise) for attacking the adminstration for being political while he uses the leftist fanatics at MOVEON.ORG as his "hurricane relief" organization.

one question. Dr. Bill Frist (TN Senator) went to New Orleans to treat patients. What the Hell is DR. Howard Dean doing?

Look, I'm a Republican and I voted for Bush-(Did I cover the bases?), but the fault for the tragedy of Katrina in New Orleans must fall at his feet.

First off, President Bush knew or should have known that the Governor of LA and the Mayor of NO are weak spineless liberal Democrats who can't be trusted to handle such a calamity. It's Bush's fault.

True, there were all of those buses that might have helped to save lives, but who had the keys, who could drive them? Driving a school bus is a $pecial privilege, not a right. Bush knows that in a liberal $pecial form of government, there are $pecial needs. You can't allow just anybody to drive those buses without the $tandard inve$tment made to the local government leader$. So, it's Bush's fault.

We all know who is partisan and who is being a leader, don't we!

You notice that Howie said something AFTER Shrillery made her attack. Either she's pulling his strings and told him to shut up until she said something or else he's trying to play catch-up in order to stay halfway relevant.

And if there was anything constructive in Mad Howie's statement I missed it. All I saw was the same old attack B.S. we've come to expect from the Nutcase in Chief.

Wouldn't Howard Dean and his wife be making better use of their skills as physicians by going down and helping people? Instead, he sits at a computer crafting a document and trying to undermine the relief effort. He is not worthy of the Hypocratic Oath he took when he became a physician (first, do no harm).

Is he really so obsessed with Karl Rove, or is this pandering to the moonbat wing of the party?

I'm so confused. At first I thought this was a partisan statement, but since Dr. Dean is against partisanship at this time of national emergency, there must be something here my pea brain fails to comprehend. Sigh, learning to read "lib speak" is a life long process.....
